Star Yeisley Spends Time with Unplugged Magazine
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: Being a reliable model is of utmost importance. How would you describe your work ethic?
STAR: I have had two jobs ever since I was old enough to work. I always put in the time and stay dedicated to my success. I strive to stay on task with projects I’m involved in and activities that I am passionate about!
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: How do you handle a situation where a photographer does not properly direct you?
STAR: First to be prepared by knowing poses to do without being told. Communicate to the photographer what you need to do your best work like music or ask them to say when they are ready for the next shot.
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: What is your greatest weakness, as a model? What are you doing to improve on it?
STAR: Blinking too much! This comes through more when I film however having my eyes closed in many shots was something I personally encountered. I know this was me being nervous! I began focusing on deep calming breathing beforehand and it helped!
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: Why do you consider yourself a creative person?
STAR: I enjoy creating art through hair coloring styling and make up looks. As well as practicing piano yoga and dance.
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym?
STAR: I eat a vegan diet 95% of the time occasionally I have fish. I am religious when it comes to my Protein shakes and vitamins. I do plant-based supplements. Regarding exercise I lift weights six days a week. I do yoga 15 minutes a day every day on Instagram I run a page called @21daysofyoga. I practice various types of cardio 2-3 times a week like hiking, running or CrossFit workouts. I also take Cbds daily to help with my muscle recovery and daily related stress,
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: What makes modeling fun for you?
STAR: The feel of a new outfit, the party pumping music at the shows and on the sets. As well as the great people I get to meet, laugh and learn with along the way!
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: What do you feel are your most attractive attributes? How do you use them to make the photo phenomenal?
STAR: I get the most compliments on my smile and eye color. I play up my green eye color with my favorite lip color “Jane” by Nars.
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: What is popular misnomer you discovered about modeling?
STAR: That taking a photo is as simple as it looks. There is so much that goes into learning the perfect poses for yourself and your own natural quirks.
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: Have you ever had surprises when you showed up for a shoot? How did you handle it?
STAR: Having shoes that were a bit too small and being in environments that were freezing cold. You just have to push through and not let it show on your face.
UNPLUGGED MAGAZINE: Any advice for new models or models trying to make a comeback?
STAR: Work on letting your personality shine through and your pictures and put the time into practicing it will pay off!
