Love at Who's Expense by Phillip Bufford

March 26, 2017

Alright playa, we know how the game goes.  See a woman.  Get her number.  Take her out.  Tell her what she needs to hear so we can get what we want.  Then get what we want until lust becomes love or until we get bored looking for something better.

It’s been that way for years and it will be that way for many men for years to come.

However, here’s a thought.  Do we ever take the time to think of all the collateral damage we leave in the pursuit of the accidental love of our life?  As good as many of us talk (for those who actually talk), we have no clue how to find love.  At least, most of us can agree on that.

But do we ever think about the hearts we break?  The tears women cry over loving us?  The anger or bitterness we leave in the hearts of so many women who were hopeful that we would be the one?  How many women hate men because of us?  How many women give the next man a hard time because of the hard time we gave her?

This is not an intervention.

It’s just something to think about.  Yes, we get what we want because we play the short game.  If we get into the long game of relationships, it’s because love snuck up on us.  Meanwhile, women play the long game and feel like they’re getting the short end of the stick.

Bottom-line.  At some point we’ve got to think about more than just getting what we want at the expense of the women who dare to love us.  Just something to think about, playa.
